How Q-Guard works

Q-Guard is a test automation tool built by Q-Leap, a software testing company based in Luxembourg. It observes how real users move through a web application, anonymises that data at the source, detects the journeys they repeat and turns them into test cases and Selenium scripts in Java, C#, Ruby or Python, on your own servers.

1. Observe real usage

A data collector captures how users move through your web application, in production or test environments, without impacting application performance.

2. Anonymise at the source

The collector anonymises user data directly upstream: the inputs users type are not recorded, only the journeys they take are kept, on your servers.

3. Detect repeated journeys

Q-Guard groups user actions into sessions, the sequence of actions during a single visit, and models repeated usage as patterns: sequences of action types.

4. Generate test cases and Selenium scripts

Each pattern becomes a test case that covers a real user journey. Q-Guard exports Selenium-based scripts in Java, C#, Ruby, Python and more.

5. Keep tests up to date

Q-Guard detects new features and keeps your test cases updated automatically. Test reports and a dashboard show coverage, results and identified issues.

6. Run tests and plug them into CI

Test cases run directly from the platform or locally with the Q-Guard Test Runner browser extension, and fit into continuous integration workflows with popular CI tools.
